Right before the start of the new season in GT4 European Series Northern Cup , Sofia Car motorsport is happy to announce the drivers for season 2017 – young and motivated Romanian pilots Eduard and Bianca Anton.
The open round will take place at Misano (Italy) circuit on 31th of March – 1stand 2nd of April . Sofia Car Motorsport will compete with one SIN R1 GT4 this season.
Eduard Anton, who was also behind the wheel at the season finale at Zandvoort last year, will share the car with his sister, Bianca.
Eduard is the youngest driver in the series this season for the moment, but this doesn’t mean that he has less potential then his more experienced competitors. Only 16 years old, the young Romanian driver starts with karting from the age of 6 and in 2007 and 2008 has 3rd place in National Gatorade Baby class and National Pufo Class. In 2103 he is 2nd in National KF Junior class.
From 12 years old he competes in Car Slalom and in 2014 is National champion in Junior and Senior class.
In 2015, at the age of 15 he was named to be “The youngest national Champion in the Romanian History”. In 2016 he is champion at Formula Predator.
In GT4 European series 2016 he has pole position, 3rd place and 2nd place at Zandvoort, the final round of the season.
His sister Bianca Anton has also very good achievements; although she is only 19 years old and will be one of the few ladies in the championship this season.
In 2006 she starts with karting and in 2012 has 100% win rate in National Championship (KF Junior class).
Bianca has 1st place in car slalom in 2011, 2nd place in 2012 and becomes champion in Women’s class in 2012. She is national vice champion in 2015, Lupo Cup class, Champion in 2016, Lupo class and H1 class-international Championship ACR.
In 2011 Bianca is selected by FIA in Geneva between 10 women pilots in the world at G-karts and was awarded personally by Jean Todt.
In 14 years was awarded by Romanian Motorsport Federation with the title of “The most remarkable feminine presence in the motorsport in 2012.”
To prepare for the 2017 GT4 European Series Northern Cup, Sofia Car Motorsport undertook tests at the Motorpark Romania circuit, near the Romanian capital Bucharest.
Sofia Car Motorsport and Sin R1 participate for third season in European GT4 series.
