Ivan Vlachkov with Sin R1 GT4 finished P3 in his first race in the Maxi Series, held at Diamos, Serres. This was the 6th round of the National Championship of the Closed Route. Ivan secured the Touring title in the past round at Circuit Dragon and now debuted in the top category.
Ivan was second in the grid, with officials surprisingly announcing that the race was “dry” despite heavy rains and wet pavements. This meant a grid start. Vlachkov was overtaken by several rivals and he was 6th because his car is not suitable for such starts.
In the course of the race, however, the 19-year-old pilot began to give the best lap times and was faster than the leaders with 3-4 seconds per lap. Only within one round he outstripped two of the Mitsubishi and was 4th. In the end, the leader Plamen Kamburov with Mitsubishi Lanser Evo 9 was eliminated after a break, and this led Ivan to third position.
In the final, Vulchkov was tight behind Konstantin Marshavelov with Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10, who finished the 2nd and thus secured his title in the class for the season. The victory took Rumen Kirov with Subaru Impreza.
